Our origin story is a long one, full of side quests and random details. For those who want the short cut here it is:
I work with scar tissue all day long
and needed a product that WAS JUST RIGHT: not smelly, baby safe, use all over the body, the perfect skin glide, shelf stable, and plain & simple ingredients...Then I found: TALLOW... ALBERTA grass-fed/finished tallow. Yep, rendered AB beef fat, from local farms, it is perfect. Tallow has a super bioavailable lipid profile(easy used by our skin), lots of vitamins to help repair and nurture our skin, moisture locking power beyond belief. A lot of trial and error and one human baby (baby products are shocking over perfumed and too complex for baby skin) + 2 dogs (with itchy paws and dried noses) later- I GOT IT, I locked in on THE formula that I still use today! BTW, it turns out the the formula is not just AMAZING FOR SCAR WORK, it's also PRETTY great at ALL the things. General Body moisturizer, tattoo balm, baby bum cream, eczema (more on that later), dermatitis, wind and sun protectant, Keratosis Pilaris (little bumpies on the arms and thighs + butt), you name it- tallow can handle it. All our Talō balms are made with AB grass-fed/finished tallow- a powerhouse of nutrients and vitamins that our skin can easily soak right up (and a pinch of cocoa butter and either jojoba or AB beeswax! We created our formulas to be simple, natural, and safe for all members of the family. WE (I) make every batch and test it on my family...so you know it's good.
